Size

When deciding on sizing, the most important thing is to first determine the space that you have available in your garage. Then you choose how much of the available space you want to dedicate to your cabinet. 

Start by measuring the space, and keep the measurement in mind when you shop for cabinets. It may also be prudent to spare some space just to avoid buying oversized cabinets. 

Materials

Materials play a huge part in your decision on cabinets. Cabinets are mainly made of several materials, such as wood, MDF, steel, or resin. 

If you want a simple heavy-duty cabinet to store the heaviest of things, you can never go wrong with a steel cabinet. Wood cabinets may be fine, although they may not have the durability of steel cabinets.

Resin cabinets are coming up, and although they may not be as tough as steel, their major strong point is that they will never rust or rot compared to steel cabinets. MDF cabinets are only for light duty and should be kept from water as the fiber may swell and break the outside laminate.
